How to Pray is a beautiful book about prayer. It was written over a century ago, which makes it even more special. The author, Reuben Torrey writes a guide for even the most season person of prayer toward a deeper, more significant prayer life. In this lovely book, Torrey tells us about prayer, the power of prayer and when we should pray. He also describes those things that keep us away from effective prayer and how our belief in the power of God can help us to overcome those hindrances. This is a classic work on prayer that has helped generations. Prayer is so important. Why not strengthen your prayer life with a classic that has helped so many throughout the years?

Who is Reuben Archer Torrey (1856-1928)? He was an American evangelist, pastor, educator and writer. He was born in New Jersey on January 28, 1856. He was highly educated having graduated from Yale Univeristy in 1875 and Yale divinity School in 1878. In 1898, Torrey served as a chaplain with the YMCA at Camp Chicamauga during the Spanish-American War. Later, during World War II, He performed similar service at Camp Bowie (a POW camp in Texas) and Camp Kearny during the Spanish-American War.
