Your Journal Life and Spiritual Life
Journaling can enhance your spiritual life in many ways.
- God is everythwere if we just look around.
Start by writing a simple gratitude journal-just write down 5-10 things (everyday) you are grateful for. You'll seen begin to see God in places you didn't notice before. Also, 5-10 things is just a start. Before you know it, you'll list will grow and grow and grow-so will your inspiration.
- God is reflected in our surroundings. Is your home sacred ground? Does it support your health and well-being? How about your work space and community? I took this photo when I was in Boston. The trip was a treat for me and very special. I fell in love with this home. My own home is a sacred place, too. Write about your home-what you like, what would make it more special...
- How is your health? Is your body the temple of your spirit? There is a lot to be said for and about physical health? I've devoted over 200 pages to natural, holistic health, so be sure and take a look. There are many pages with simple, quick and easy first steps, so don't be afraid. www.naturally-holistic.net is the place to go! Meanwhile, you can journal about the steps you plan to take toward your best health. There is even a new blog on my site about my own healthy weight journey. You don't need to write a website, though. (Did I say that I'm an over-achiever?) Simply start your Spirit Journal!
- Do you live on purpose? Having purpose and meaning in our lives are just a few of our spiritual needs. We all must have this. People with a purpose-and it doesn't have to be grandiose, by the way, are much happier. Write about what you think your purpose might be. What is important and gives you meaning? Does prayer bring purpose and meaning to your life? Write, write, write...
- What about relationships and connections? Connectedness is also a spiritual need-in other needs, we need a sense of connectedness for survival. Learning to pray with beads can help you gain a sense of connectedness. Click here to learn more about this interesting topic. Meanwhile, relationships are usually easy for us to write about due to the emotional connection.
- Are you creative at all? I'm sure you are, even if you don't realize it. Creativity is another of our spiritual needs! Who would have guessed? Think about how you are creative.
Do you garden, play music, write poetry, design your home, cook...? Write about this and maybe even set some goals. Start with an inspiration and just let your pen do the writing. How Writing a Journal Can Change Your Life Writing can be very meditative. Pretty soon you won't have to think about it-the inspiration will just flow through you. This is incredibly powerful, because when you stop thinking, you'll soon be able to hear what God has to say to you. So, pick up that pen, write and just see what happens.
