Spirit Journal
Spirit Journal: What is it?
Journaling is simply the act of communicating with yourself. Those thoughts, ideas, daydreams, worries... that float around your head are simply put on paper in one form or another. You might choose to write, keep a video/DVD journal or record your journal on tape
Keeping a journal will:
- help you to discover things about yourself
- focus your concentraton
- Spark creativity and ideas
- explore and/or release emotions
- be a safe, reliable and always available confidant
- be an important part of your spiritual growth and awareness
- forgive yourself and others
- write/tell the truth
- gain insight
Where else can you be an observer in your own life?
Spirit Journal: Why to Start Now
Where else can you be an Observer in your own Life?
One of our human challenges revolves around 'purpose.'
- What is your purpose in life?
- How is your life meaningful?
Huge questions-right?
Keeping a journal can help you to clarify your present, vision your unique future, set goals and even create a pathway so those dreams can come true. I started keeping a journal when I was in high school. I remember writing more than what would be considered a 'diary.' Writing my thoughts helped me to get more clear about what I wanted to do, and how I felt about events and people in my life. I have continued my journal writing since then (30 years!), and I certainly consider the practice an integral part of my spiritual growth. My spirit journal is filled with events that were profound (to me anyway), ordinary happenings, times when someone touched my heart, times I felt like I failed, frustrations, joys and sometimes just plain rambling. Journaling showed so much for me, cleared my thoughts and helped me to release emotions. I also found that I slept great even after 5-10 minutes of journal time.
Spirit Journal and Intuition
How are you doing with your own journaling? Whether you've started or not, there is still more to learn!
Keeping a journal is a great way to actually receive intuition-that inner knowing. Some even beleive that intuition is the guidance we receive from spirit.
What? How can anybody tap God's wisdom simply by writing?
Writing, by just letting your thoughts and emotions pour out with no editing and no real specific goals is the big secret. This is the simple beauty of journaling. You'll find that as your pen moves, soon the thoughts-even new and maybe even surprising to you begin to pour out. |
